The deck of cards (52 cards plus two jokers) introduces students, educators, and journalism professionals to 40 leading mobile journalism professionals from around the world who are trainers, storytellers, audio specialists, photographers, marketers, entrepreneurs and educators. Each card is filled with philosophies, hacks, and lessons and has a dynamic QR Code that takes the reader to videos, filmmaking tips, and more in-depth lessons.
The award winning "Phoning It In" storytelling model, created by Michigan State University Professor of Practice and Emmy Award Winning Journalist, Mike Castellucci is told on a series of cards that goes step-by-step to help students and journalism practitioners enhance their storytelling skills. A keyhole punch, located in the upper right-hand corner of each card, allows cards to be used in the field.
The RTDNA logo is featured on the back of every card and a portion of each deck sold directly benefits the long-term viability of the organization with a contribution to the RTDNF Permanent Endowment Fund.
